On-air highlights

I bring my own creativity and personality to my reporting. The following are some examples of how I pull the viewer into the action.

I thrive in a live broadcast environment and am comfortable stepping in front of the camera minutes after breaking news happens. Here’s an example of a live hit.

Full items

This is an example of a story that I pitched during the morning meeting, then chased and packaged on-camera for the weekday 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

It’s not often easy to read a government budget. So I zeroed in on a specific promise from the 2023 federal budget to explain what it means for the average citizen.

Enterprise stories

Anishnaabe journalist and author Tanya Talaga spoke with me about the mission to find her great-great-grandmother, and how she reclaimed her lost loved one at a forgotten cemetery, forgotten no longer.

This is part 1 of my in-depth look at how underqualified truck drivers are earning their commercial licences in Ontario.

This is part 2 of my examination of Ontario’s truck training business. In this report, we looked at the province’s air brake training and testing standards. With an examiner, I put truckers to the test at an ONRoute.

Election coverage

I covered the Ontario Greens for both our CityNews TV and radio provincial election specials. This is a live hit from earlier in the night, in which I outlined the stakes for Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner and why his party faced an uphill battle to double its seat count at Queen’s Park.

I interviewed Senior Adviser to the Green Party Ralph Benmurgui on our livestreamed CityNews provincial election special about why the Greens saw hope in one of the safest Tory ridings in the province.

I covered Mississauga’s mayoral race for both our CityNews TV and radio municipal election specials. In this live hit, I set the scene at incumbent Mayor Bonnie Crombie’s headquarters, and point out some small details in the setup that made clear Crombie’s campaign was bracing for another victory.
